But it is up to us whether or not to follow.” Pat Tillman was a professional football player for the Arizona Cardinals. During his time in the league, he achieved three interceptions, 374 tackles, and three fumble recoveries. Tillman served the US military in Afghanistan, where he died in a friendly fire incident. He was posthumously promoted from the rank of specialist to corporal, and he posthumously received Silver Star and Purple Heart medals. During his service, he also received a Meritorious Service Medal.
